Schedule of Care during your Pregnancy

  • Complementary Interview- Are we a good fit for each other?
  • Initial prenatal visit in your first trimester. Please have a prenatal OB panel blood draw and results available for your records at our first visit together
  • 24 hour availability by telephone or e-mail and in person visits when necessary
  • Prenatal visits every 4 weeks until 30 weeks, every two weeks until 36 weeks, an in home visit at 36 weeks and then weekly visits from 36 weeks until your birth. These visits are generally 45-50 minutes long
  • The use of one of our three deep tubs for labor and water birth 
  • Continuous labor support in your home when labor is established
  • Care during labor, birth and early postpartum period until you and your baby are settled and ready for a sleep. We stay at your home until you have nursed your new baby, eaten a meal and gone to the bathroom. We do a complete newborn exam and assessment before we tuck you into bed.
  • Postpartum visits in your home at 24 hours, 3 days, 5-7 days, and 2-3 weeks. Your 6 week visit is back at our clinic.
  • Ongoing phone and e-mail consultations and/or visits as needed
  • Complementary prenatal yoga for current families of Trillium Midwifery Care
  • Lactation services from Emme, a certified lactation counselor
  • Optimal fetal positioning consultation 
  • Placenta encapsulation
