After beginning my formal midwifery training in 2003, I earned my Certified Professional Midwife credential in 2008. I am licensed as a Traditional Midwife by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
Through my years of training and practice, I have had the privilege of working with many community midwives in Minnesota, the Philippines and at the Farm Midwifery Training Center in Tennessee.
I was thrilled to learn directly from Ina May Gaskin, Pamela Hunt and the rest of the Farm Midwives during my time at the Farm.
I am a trained Lactation Counselor, certified in Advanced Neonatal Life Support and Adult and Infant CPR (BLS), and have done advanced training and study with Spinning Babies, Integral Touch of Birth - Myofascial Therapy, Cranio Sacral Level I and BRAVA Core Health. I am an active member of the Minnesota Council of Certified Professional Midwives and currently serve on the MCCPM Board of Directors.
My husband Paul and I live in South Minneapolis with our cute but anxious pup. I love working with my hands - knitting, gardening, pottery and generally making beautiful things. I find great peace walking in nature, plunging into a cold lake, meditating in a hot sauna and sitting by the side of a birthing person. My three kids are grown and launched, and remain my greatest teachers.
